I hate to admit it but I do have a lot of breaks happen. But weirdly enough it's ALWAYS my middle finger nail on my left hand!!! I can't explain it but it causes me the most trouble. I go between two types of fixes.
One: I use a three-second drying glue for nails. Either Kiss or Jet Dry works. The important part is that it's a fast drying glue because that's what's going to help keep the nail shape from going wonky. I used to use regular nail glue and by the time it dried my nail had moved three cm from where it was supposed to be set. You can sit there waiting for it all day!
The best fix though is Orly's nail repair kit. Available at Sally's. You just brush the crack in your nail with the glue from the kit, dip it immediately in the powder, wait a couple of minutes for it to set, and then buff the nail to make it smooth. It lasts forever! UNLESS you accidentally use pure acetone on it, then it'll wear it away a bit. So don't do that. Regular remover usually works fine over it. I don't use the buffer that comes with it though! I use a white polar block from Sally's, it's more heavy duty =)
