Acetone is one of my favourite discoveries from when I first ventured into the nail world. Have you ever wondered how all those big name nail bloggers get their cuticles so perfectly clean? No hint of polish except on the nail? I did too. I used to use regular remover and Q-tips. Now I use pure acetone and a thin square nail brush!
To get nicer cuticles, I use Blue Cross cuticle remover (available at Sally's). It really softens my cuticles so that I can push them back. Once I've pushed them back (I use a dual cuticle pusher and cutter from Sally's), I use a nail scrubbing brush thingy from the dollar store to kind of brush off any loose cuticles. Sounds pretty gross huh. Cutting your cuticles is a big no-no I've heard so I try to avoid it. The scrubby brush usually works.
If I find that my nails are yellowing, I buff them using either this cool buffer you can see in the picture, or the white polar block. I got fancy one from Sephora for $7 and it has a few different buffing sides. I don't like to shine my nails so the other sides are kinda useless for me but it's fun to hang on to! I also do that method of mixing hot water with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. I found it on Pinterest lol.

Since I use pure acetone to clean my cuticles after putting on polish, my hands and cuticles get extremely dry. This almond hand and nail cream from The Body Shop ($20) is my go-to hand cream. Oils are always great for your body so that's why I love this one - it has a bunch of different oils in it. I've also mentioned that I love Essie's Apricot cuticle oil so I go back and forth between these t
