This is one of my absolute favourite designs! I was inspired by a shirt and now I do it in a bunch of different colours.
For this tutorial I used:
China Glaze White on White
NARS Kutki
Ricki's Hydrengia and Popsicle
China Glaze Liquid Leather
Sephora (OPI) Thyme for a Mani
Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold
Seche Vite Dry Fast topcoat
Makeup sponge (from a dollar store)
Thin paint brush (I use the yellow nail art brush from Sally Beauty Supply)
Step 1: Paint nails white.
Step 2: Using your lightest shade and makeup sponge, dab around the edges of your nails.
Step 3: Using a slightly darker shade, dab around and a little on top of the previous color.
Step 4: Using the darkest shade, repeat the dabbing process, moving closer to the middle of the nail.
Step 5: Using black, make a few dabs in random spots (use a light hand so that it doesn't overpower the whole design).
Step 6: Use the beige and the thin paint brush to make a few lines in the middle.
Step 7: Using the gold, dab LIGHTLY in random spots over the whole nail.
Step 8: Seal with a top coat.
